Book Review - The DevOps Handbook by Gene Kim, Jez Humble, Patrick Debois & John Willis
If you are like me, you've heard the word "DevOps" buzzing around for quite some time now. Perhaps - also like me - you have a grasp on what these term means in a broad sense but have been curious to understand more about why it is such a hot topic item right now.
If this applies to you, then this book is an excellent resource to start from having very little understanding of DevOps, and - by the end - you will be fully indoctrinated into this completely revolutionary way of managing an IT infrastructure.
Even if you are a vetran in IT affairs, this book would still be a great resource to peak inside the minds of the authors, who are all very well versed in the methods of DevOps. Great explanation goes into all of the methodolgies they endorse, and you will find yourself looking for ways to apply these concepts not just to Software Development and Operations but to all aspects of business development
This book is worth the read and will not disappoint in giving you the vocabulary and understanding to speak common DevOps language without feeling like you're simply spitting out buzz words that have no meaning. DevOps is entirely about adding value and - more importantly - improving the lives of the underappreciated souls that work in IT.
