 Book Review - Learn PowerShell Scripting in a Month of Lunches

Learn PowerShell Scripting - a sequel in this Month of Lunches series - is the perfect addition to keep you moving towards fully equipping yourself with the knowledge to be a tool-making master. 

The main emphasis of the book is just this - tool-making.  The authors iterate this many times; you are not only creating script, but you are building tools to solve problems.  And the main characteristic of a good tool is versatility.  

The authors help you understand that good scripting/tool-making is all about building commands to solve one specific problem.  By doing this, your chances of using the tool becomes exponential.  The more small problems you solve, the more you have in your tool belt to whip out later on for future problems.

One of the core ideas in this book is to build highly specific functions/commands to solve a problem, and then put them all together using a "Controller Script".  Let the "Controller Script" be the last piece that can bring together any of the myriad of commands you have built that only do one thing.

I recommend this book to any IT Professional that has a good understanding of how PowerShell works and wants to take their skills to the next level.  Adding these skills will make you a highly valuable asset to efficient and versatile IT administration.
