Taronite is fictional. The limits around it are not decorative.
Real materials science gives us partial analogies: shear thickening, jamming, field-responsive behavior, and thermal failure. None of that proves Taronite could exist or that a real material can do what the Miracle Metal does.
The scientific grounding serves a different purpose. Every fictional capability must answer to a condition, a cost, or a failure.
Plausibility does not begin when the impossible is disguised as fact. It begins when the impossible has consequences.
