When behavior becomes a profile, how much of the person—and their uncertainty—survives?
A record of what you do can feel strangely intimate. Especially when the details are accurate, but the interpretation feels foreign.
What you watched. Where you went. Who you spoke to.
How much of the person survives when those details become a profile? Where does it leave your uncertainty, your contradictions, or the things you were simply trying to understand?
And if information can describe an identity, could enough of it give an AI an identity of its own?
These are some of the questions I explore in The Miracle Metal.
