Hacking in fiction has a tendency to become magic with a keyboard.
Someone types fast enough, a progress bar hits 100%, and suddenly they own the entire network.
I don't want The Miracle Metal to work that way.
Networks are infrastructure. Servers are physical machines. Information has to travel somewhere, be stored somewhere, and eventually, if things go badly enough, be destroyed somewhere.
Sometimes the interesting part isn't breaking into the system.
It's figuring out what happens to the evidence afterward.
Including things like degaussing hard drives when you really don't want that data coming back.
